The Turquoise Turtle

"Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out" -  James Bryant Conant. Turtles/tortoises have to be one of my favourite animals. What's not to love? They're cute, slow (taking in life literally one step at a time) and can live to over 100 years old. This batch of bracelets was inspired by their colour, texture and where they habitat. With the mix of greens, blues and turquoises, this set shows off the relaxed sea green tones of the ocean. The Turquoise Turtle is definitely one of my favourites. Have a look at the pictures and let me know what you think!

Random Splash

When I left to pop out of the flat today I felt a bit dark and boring. The answer? To put some Milsey Bay Bracelets on! I picked out this set with the navy running through to link in with my jumper. The muted, sea green tones kept it busy with a splash of orange bouncing off of the gold. Hope you get some ideas from this, enjoy!

Surf’s Up! Part 2

Finally! Surf’s up and we’re finally going in for a sneak peak! Sadly, I didn’t literally go in, (then again, why would I want to when the temperature was 1 degrees Celsius!) but following on from Part 1, I brought a surf dude to show us how it’s done. Being beside the sea and watching the rush of energy crashing on the beach was somewhat satisfying. Even though wearing 5 layers of socks and the biggest mittens you will ever come across, I was still freezing. But none the less, watching the little black dots bobbing up and down until a set arrived was slightly amusing. The light, colours and energy really inspire what goes in to Milsey Bay Bracelets and it was great chilling (literally my bum off) and taking in the scenery, so enjoy!

Surf’s Up! Part 1

We’re nearly getting to see the waves awaken in Scotland, but not just yet! To capture the ice-cold swells of the North Sea, blues, blacks and a splash of yellow were used singularly as well as combined. Below are the images for the first set of boy bracelets on this blog, feel free to comment and share ideas. The waxed multi-strand bracelet in the middle is fully waterproof and even looks better the more it’s worn, so you don’t even have to take it off when you’re going for that chilly surf! Make sure to come back and check out part 2 as we see Max venture Aberdeen waves. Stay cosy!

Coral Chick

Coral Chick expresses summer vibes on the beach and in the reefs of the Caribbean. Having a range of clashing pinks and splashes of blue make this set of bracelets busy and fun. For the Coral Chicks out there, the thick blue/orange bracelet is a must! It goes with anything to brighten up your outfit and looks great on the ankle. As the pictures were taken in Aberdeen, please mind my pink, ice-cold hand as it looks like it’s about to fall off! Have a look and let me know what you think chicks!

The Inspiration Board

For those of you that are wondering where I find the inspiration to make Milsey Bay Bracelets, this post will let you in to a little secret. The summery pictures of bright blue skies are whats keeping me going through this horrible wet and grey winter here in Aberdeen! Why can't I be in Australia walking around in my flip flops and starting up that famous "barbie"?! With exotic colours flooding from festivals and splashes of paint to shells and pebbles being washed up along the beaches, this small selection of pictures capture the creativity behind my bracelets. Let yourself out of the dark clouds for a minute or two, and enjoy some summer dreaming while looking through these pics!
